Privacy & Cookie Policy
How Halloween.my handles your data, what cookies we set, and how to opt out.
Who we are
Halloween.my is a directory of Halloween events and a Halloween shop, operated from the United Kingdom. You can reach us at our contact page.
What we collect
We do not ask you to create an account and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us:
- Event submissions. If you submit an event, we store the name, venue, town, dates, website and your name and email address, so we can check the listing and contact you about it. We keep submissions for as long as the listing is relevant.
- Emails. If you email us, we keep the correspondence.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
Cookies we set ourselves
- hm_country — remembers which country area you chose (UK, USA or Canada) so you are not redirected somewhere else on your next visit. Expires after 30 days. This is a preference cookie and sets no identifier.
- hm_consent — records your cookie choice so we do not ask again.
Third-party cookies and advertising
We use third-party services that may set their own cookies:
- Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info and Your Online Choices.
- Embedded media. Some event pages can show video from YouTube or posts from Instagram. These load only when you click to play them — nothing is requested from those services until you do. Once loaded, their own cookies and privacy policies apply.
- Maps. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap.
- Geolocation. To send you to the right country area, we may look up the country (not the city, street or identity) associated with your IP address using a third-party lookup service. The result is cached and we do not store your IP address alongside any other data.
Affiliate links
Some shop and ticket links on this site are affiliate links, including the Amazon Associates programme. If you buy through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link takes you to the retailer, whose own privacy policy and cookies then apply. Affiliate relationships never change which events we list or how we rank them.
Your choices
- You can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though it may not remember your country.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or the EEA, you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to its processing. Email us and we will deal with it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
